Emily McCormick

Paralegal, Lead

Emily McCormick is a licensed Paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario, having obtained her license in 2018 after completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Honors Criminology from Wilfrid Laurier University. She began her career as a legal assistant at a Waterloo law firm, where she supported a high‑volume commercial litigation practice and developed a strong foundation in litigation support.

In 2020, Emily joined Reist Krauss Bauer LLP and continued to expand her experience in litigation and client service. In her current role she leads the firm’s team of paralegals and provides comprehensive support to the firm’s lawyers on all client matters. She primarily focuses on educating clients on negotiation process, settlement terms, the civil litigation process, and tribunal process and assists the partners and their clients with case strategy, legal research, document preparation, and ultimately ensures the efficient progression of files. Emily is skilled in both the interpretation and practical application of the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Rules of the Small Claims Court.

Emily’s commitment to people first service began early in her career. Prior to earning her degree, she completed a Human Services Foundation Certificate at Fanshawe College in 2013, strengthening her ability to support individuals navigating challenging circumstances. In 2022, she further expanded her role by offering Paralegal services directly to the firm’s clients, helping to enhance access to justice by providing representation where clients may otherwise face barriers to legal support.

Clients benefit from Emily’s keen attention to detail, quick wit, and calm demeanour. Her strong analytical skills and ability to perform effectively in high‑pressure situations make her a trusted advocate and an invaluable asset to the Reist Krauss Bauer LLP team.
